Only the lens that smaller than cornea such as OK Lens, RGP, Semi Hard
Before you begin
- Prepare your tools for removing RGP lenses, such as a plunger, mirror, saline, lens case, and solution.
- Always wash your hands with soap.
- Dry your hands with a lint-free towel or paper towel before touching the lenses.
- Remove your right lens first.
Removing with a plunger
- Wet the tip of the plunger with saline.
- Look straight ahead in the mirror.
- Hold open your upper eyelid, keeping the lashes pinned back.
- Gently touch the plunger to the lower third of the lens and pull it away.
Removing without a plunger
Pull and blink
- Place your right index and middle fingers at the outer corner of your right eyelid.
- While looking straight ahead, gently but firmly pull straight back, making the edges of the eyelids tight against the eye.
- Blink hard, and the lens will pop out. You may feel more comfortable looking straight down into the palm of your hand to catch the lens when it comes out.
Fingers against the eye
- Look straight ahead in the mirror.
- Place the middle finger of one hand firmly against your upper eyelid and the index finger of your other hand firmly against your lower eyelid.
- Gently press your fingers against the eye and move them together; the lens should pop out.
